About Deanna
Dr. Deanna is a speech-language pathologist and preschool assessment specialist with DeSoto County Schools. She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education, with an emphasis in Autism, from The University of Texas at Austin and her master's degree in Communication Disorders from Jackson State University. She has more than 18 years of experience working with children and adults across a variety of settings, including public schools, private clinics, and in-home therapy services. Throughout her career, Dr. Deanna has served individuals and families in Texas, Mississippi, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. Her expertise includes early childhood development, speech and language assessment, communication disorders, and special education. In her current role as a preschool assessment specialist, she collaborates with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to identify and support the developmental and educational needs of young children. Dr. Deanna is passionate about supporting educators and caregivers through professional development, collaboration, and consultation focused on communication development, the early identification of developmental concerns, and school readiness.
