Psychological Testing
Locations: Southaven & Clarksdale
Drs. Irby, Bradley, Norfolk, and Smith provide a variety of psychological evaluation services to diagnose Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and other learning disabilities. Our waitlist is based on age, as we prioritize evaluating our youngest clients so they may access services faster. We test ages 18 months to all adults. Anticipate a 12-36 month wait for psychological testing based on age.
Psychological testing clients should note that IPS is a training clinic and prides itself on preparing the next generation of highly skilled psychologists. As such, a predoctoral psychology intern and/or graduate-level psychology practicum student may be involved in some aspects of the assessment process. These students are closely supervised by our licensed psychologists.
Our psychological evaluations consist of three appointments: a teletherapy intake appointment, an in-person testing appointment, and a feedback session via video call or in-person.
The initial session is a 45 minute via video call using our patient portal between parent/guardian of the client and the psychologist. If the client is 18 years or older, the client must be present. The discussion will contain the following:
A structured developmental history
An overview of current symptomatology and behaviors of relevance
The second appointment is in-person at the clinic and the client must be present. One legal guardian must be present for clients under 18 years old. The evaluation encompasses a variety of measures based on your or your child’s referral concern(s). The evaluation includes:
Direct testing and rating scales.
After this session is completed, measures are scored and a comprehensive report is written and provided to you at a feedback session typically scheduled 3-5 weeks after the initial session. This appointment can be virtual or in-person.
