Sick Policy

To help prevent the spread of illness in the clinic, clients (including family members for in-home sessions) must be free of fever, vomiting, and diarrhea for 24 hours without use of medication before attending their session. The following illness have different requirements for returning to sessions:

  • Strep/Conjunctivitis (pink eye): symptoms-free/antibiotic use for 24 hours with a doctor's note

  • Staphylococcus/MRSA: must be reported by emailing imsick@ipsms.net and show a doctor’s note indicating when the child may return to clinic. If the child has an open wound, the wound must be covered while in the clinic to prevent the spread to others. Note: your child will not be permitted in the ball pit with any uncovered open wound to prevent the spread on staph.

  • Hand-foot-mouth: 48 hours with no new lesions and no fever with a doctor’s note.

  • Lice: from crawling lice and at least 24 hours after treatment has been started with supporting documentation.

  • Ringworm: cannot return until 48 hours after treatment has started (i.e., oral use of antifungal medication) with an accompanying doctor’s note.
